When the real job and audio collide

I’ll be the first admit: I’ve won a few lottos in my life. One of them is winning the best boss lottery. When he discovered I majored in video production in high school and narrate audiobooks, he tasked me with producing videos for our program, including some narration!

It was extra special to produce this announcement of a huge gift from Chef Jose Andres’ Longer Tables Fund to our Food Leaders Fellowship.

Audio Description:

This is a sample of audio description written and performed by me using Audacity, Microsoft ClipChamp, and video screen capture.

This scene from “I Have Called You By Name” from season one of The Chosen captured my heart when I first watched it (while sick with Covid) in 2021. Mary Magdalene was my favorite Biblical woman when I first learned about her as a kid in catechism. Her portrayal by Elizabeth Tabish is heart-rending and inspiring. The Bible only says Jesus healed her of seven demons but this episode tells her story in an imaginative and emotional way.

Coffee the lifeblood of tired men

Day 2 of the 30 Day Audio Meme Challenge comes with a quote from Raymond Chandler.

Fun fact about today’s audio meme: you know how I grew up in a haunted house? Well, mom and I found the burial site. Our resident spirit and her husband are buried in the same cemetery where one of my favorite authors, Raymond Chandler rests with his wife! True Story. Just ask my mom!
