CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

2010 ::: Mary releases her first mystery short story, “2:45 Out of Santa Ana” in the anthology, Orange County Noir. Her feature story, “Page to Screen: How Books Become Hollywood Blockbusters” appears in February 2010 issue of Romance Writer’s Report. She interviews Ladino singer, Yasmin Levy for the February/March 2010 issue of Latino Future Magazine.

2009 ::: Mary is a finalist in the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s TV Writing Fellowship. She interviews Chef Daisy Martinez of the Food Network for Latino Future Magazine and features burlesque starlet, La Cholita on her blog, Chica Lit.

2007 ::: Two releases: a novella, “Till Death Do Us Part” in the anthology, Names I Call My Sister (May) and a novel, Swithcraft (September).

2007 ::: In Between Men is voted the Top Romance Book of 2006 by Catalina Magazine’s Book Club members.

2006 ::: In Between Men is Catalina Magazine’s Book Club Read for February.

2005 ::: Catalina Magazine calls Hot Tamara the Best Chick Lit novel of the year.

2005 ::: Mary is named one of the Hottest 25 People in Orange County by OC Metro Magazine.

2005 ::: Hot Tamara is Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Red Hot Read for April.

2004 ::: In its August issue, Latina Magazine calls Mary “an author to look out for”.

ABOUT MARY

::: Mary Castillo is the author of Switchcraft, Hot Tamara and In Between Men. Her short fiction can be found in the anthologies Orange County Noir, Names I Call My Sister, and Friday Night Chicas. She is a frequent contributor to Latino Future Magazine. Her articles have appeared in Romance Writers report, Animation World Network, Tu Ciudad, Catalina and Rise Up.

::: Mary lives in Orange County, CA with her family.

::: Mary is originally from National City, CA. She graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1992 and then received her BA in History from the University of Southern California in 1996. For a brief time she was a reporter for the Los Angeles Times Community News and also worked as a public relations and advertising copywriter before writing novels full time.
